Why You Should Show Up…

Employee Engagement

As a leader of a software company, I have always believed that our time-tracking software is a key tool for managing projects and ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget. However, as we navigate the new landscape of remote work and changing expectations around the workplace, I have come to realize that caring for our employees is just as important as managing our projects.

One of the biggest challenges of managing a team is maintaining a pulse on the well-being of our employees. With the majority of our team members working from home, it can be difficult to ensure that everyone is staying engaged and productive. This is where our time-tracking software comes in. By tracking the time spent on different tasks and activities, we can identify areas where team members may be at risk of burnout or disengagement.

Burnout is the result of too much energy output and not enough energy self-invested. In other words, it’s burning too much fuel than you’ve put in your tank. — Melissa Steginus

For example, if we notice that a team member is consistently working long hours, this could be a sign that they are taking on too much work or that there are not enough resources to complete the tasks at hand. By identifying these issues early, we can take steps to address them before they become a problem. Additionally, we can also create a more balanced workload for our team members and avoid burnout.

But our software is not just about managing projects, it’s also about caring for our employees. By providing team members with a clear understanding of how much time is being spent on different tasks and activities, we can ensure that everyone is working together effectively and that no one is taking on too much work. Additionally, by tracking time, we can also identify areas where team members may be having difficulty completing tasks and provide additional support or resources to help them succeed.

As a leader of a software company, it’s important for me to recognize that the well-being of our employees is just as important as managing our projects. By using our latest software addition, ShowUp, to the Dovico family programs to get a pulse on our employees, we can create a healthy work environment for our team members and ensure that everyone is staying engaged and productive. This is key to Dovico’s success in these new times.
